Drug abuse has a lot of serious long term damaging effects both to the body and the mind, it can greatly decrease the mind ability to function and render organs unusable and permanently broken even if the user stopped using. It can also lead to social and financial ruin for people who fail to stop and get some kind of help. These negative effects of drug use is mostly experienced later in life during adulthood but begins in the adolescent years when kids start experimenting with seemingly harmless drugs such as marijuana and glue. That is why step should be taken to not let kids get a hold of gateway drugs and substances such as cigarettes and alcohol.
